Reward Program Details
The first step to creating a reward program is giving the reward program a name.
NOTE: It is recommended to use a short reward program name as its beneficial for each SMS text message to include the reward program name i.e. "Reward Program Name: This is an SMS message."
Next, select the business that owns the reward program.
The 3rd step is selecting the reward program type. There are multiple ways to create custom programs that all derive from the four primary types of reward programs. After selecting the reward program type, customization's can be made below.
Single Level Rewards
Single Level Reward programs are the most popular type of reward program used. Single Level Reward Programs have one level of rewards, meaning, there is one point bracket level and one set of points.
Multi-Tiered Rewards
There can be an unlimited number of tiers (defined as a contact list). Tiers are reached once certain spending thresholds are reached. Each tier can provide a different bonus point amount while the member is active within the tier. For instance:
- Tier 1: 1 currency unit = 1 point
- Tier 2: 1 currency unit = 1.5 points
- Tier 3: 1 currency unit = 2 points
The tiers have no expiration once reached unless the members total spend amount is manually changed.
Paid VIP Rewards
VIP Programs follows all single level reward program rules and functionality; however, a VIP reward program requires a minimum of two contact lists or tiers.
The first contact list is a classic single level rewards program. The second contact list is the paid VIP reward program. The paid VIP reward program give members bonus points per each purchase (if desired) and internal business perks. The paid VIP reward program can have various levels. Additionally, there is an expiration date per each VIP level. When the expiration dates reached, and the member has not re-subscribed, the member will automatically move to the standard reward program contact list or tier.
Time-Based Rewards
Time-Based programs do not track dollar spending but visit frequency. Members receive points for each visit or check-in. Rules can be created to give members one point or credit for every specified time interval. Time-based programs typically use a tablet application to check-in via mobile phone number or scanned barcode loyalty card.
Reward Program Language
You may wish to change the reward programs language entirely. Doing so, will use Googles API to change the entire back office language settings. Please note, Google's API can make some text unreadable or confusing. If desiring to change the members profile language, do not change the language here. Instead, create a language template that the user can select inside their member profile. More about creating language templates are found here.
RP Goal Redemption Type
There are three different types of reward point goals redemptions.
Continue Point Count (CPC)
A CPC rule has multiple reward goals, and when each reward point goals reached an offer issued. When an offers redeemed, the point count continues until the next reward point goal. When the last reward point goals reached, defined as an ‘end series offer’, and the member redeems the offer, the point amount attached to the offer subtracts from the customer’s total redeemable points. This subtraction lowers the point count allowing the member to cycle continually through the rewards point goals.
Difference Point Count (DPC)
A DPC has multiple reward point goals. Whenever an offers redeemed, it subtracts the difference between the offer redeemed and the previous offer. For instance, if there are three reward point goals such as 100, 250, 450 and the member has 450 points, if they redeem the 450 offer, 200 points will subtract from the users profile, 450-250 = 200. The members profile will display the 100 and 250 offer. On the other hand, if the member redeemed the 250 offer, the member will have 300 redeemable points, and the 100 and 250 point offer will display in the user's profile.
Subtract Point Count (SPC)
SPC points act as a bank. Members use their points to purchase rewards.
Member Becomes Inactive After?
Choose any amount of time frame to make a member an active. When a member becomes inactive, they will no longer receive any automated marketing triggers or broadcasts. Inactivity occurs when a member does not make a transaction over a given amount of time. Inactivity is a viable tool to help businesses save SMS text credits.
Point(s) & Member(s) Term
If you wish to change the “Point” Term” or “Member” Term, do so here. For instance, if “contact” is placed in the “Member” Term field, all areas in the software that display the term “member” will be changed to “contact.”
Post Transaction Employee ID Options
This drop-down controls of the employee ID field on the Post-Transaction screen of the web browser and tablet application.
Round Points or Exact Match
Rounding Points will always round the purchase spend down to the whole number. For instance, if a purchase of 10.99 is made, 10 points will be issued to the member’s redeemable points and 10 points will display in the member’s profile.
If using Exact Match, the total spend will be issued as points. For instance, there is a 10.99 spend the member will have 10.99 redeemable points. When using exact match, there are three different display options. If using display phone number, and the example, the member would have 10.99 redeemable points but only 10 points would show in their members profile. Technically, the member only needs a .01 spend to reach 11 redeemable points and to display 11 points in their profile. The display one decimal will display 10.9 the member profile and display two decimals will show 10.99 in the members profile.
Show Post Features
The show Post Transaction Display Amount, Show Post Transaction Display Appointment, and Show Post Transaction Display Override apply to the settings on the Post-Transaction Screen. More about these settings are found in the Posts-Transaction video.
Show Transaction History Spent Column?
This feature hides or displays the spent column in the members profile. This feature is handy if using the Round Points redemption rule. If allowing members to see their transaction history of their profile, enabling this feature will only display to the member how many points they earned on a transaction versus how much they earned and spent. It could be discouraging for a member to see they spent 10.99 and only earned 10 points. Setting the featured to “No” will only display the earned 10 points on the transaction.
Allow Upload Receipts
Only use this feature if you’ve previously spoken to staff. Allowing members to upload receipts adds an upload receipts button to the members profile. When uploaded, they enter the currency spend, transaction date, some additional pertinent information and complete a survey. When the transaction posts, it shows on the transactions page is pending. Staff must approve the transaction before points issue.
Shipping Rewards
Use this feature if internally shipping rewards for tracking purposes.
Are Transactions Pending?
If transactions are pending, they display on the transaction page as pending. If transactions are pending for zero months, points will issue immediately once the transaction is approved. If pending is one month, once the transaction is approved points will issue after the current month expires. There is also an option to immediately approved after pending time expires. When using Pending Categories and features, it’s best to have a screen share with our staff.
