Businesses can deploy tablets to facilitate and promote their reward program with the app for android tablets. Additionally, we can develop custom apps to allow a business' customers to manage their profiles within the reward program.
RoboRewards App
The RoboRewards android app supports both Fire tablets and more generic android tablets. The business buys these devices (or uses their existing tablets) as mobile tools for their staff or as a kiosk for customers.
Download RoboRewards App
The download process differs slightly between Fire tablets and other android tablets. Fire tablets utilize a diminished version of the android OS, so they require a modified version of the RoboRewards app. The app behaves identically on both platforms despite these internal differences.
Fire Tablet
To ensure compatibility, the app for Fire tablets must come from the Amazon Appstore. Download the app using these steps:
- Start from the home screen on the tablet (powered on and unlocked)
- Click on the Appstore icon
- Click on the search icon
and enter RoboRewards - Select the app with the RoboRewards name and icon
- Click on the install button
- After the download and installation completes, click on the open button to start the app or close the Appstore
The freshly installed RoboRewards icon appears at the bottom of the home page.
Android Tablet
The app for other android tablets should come from the Google Play Store:
- Start from the home screen on the tablet (powered on and unlocked)
- Click on the Play Store icon
- Click on the search icon and enter RoboRewards
- Select the app with the RoboRewards name and icon
- Click on the install button
- After the download and installation completes, click on the open button to start the app or close the Play Store
The freshly installed RoboRewards icon appears at the bottom of the home page.
Using App
Click on the RoboRewards icon on the home page and a login screen appears. Enter a username/password combination which matches working credentials for accessing the website through a browser.
WARNING - click the Remember User box only if all persons who access this tablet will use the same credentials.
Depending on the authorization for the user account and setup of the reward program:
- Select a reward program (if a list appears)
- Select a location (if a list appears)
- Select from the main menu which screen (Post Transaction, Barcode reader or Signup Form) to access
Use the tablet's back key to return the main menu.
Set Tablet Device Settings
RoboRewards can adjust the behavior of its app for each reward program. The app allows up to three choices from the main menu (each with custom colors):
- Post Transaction - search for contact by name, phone number or Email address to post a transaction and redeem an offer
- Barcode reader - Scan a barcode rather than search for a contact
- Signup Form - add new contacts to the reward program
NOTE - barcode reading requires a tablet with an 8mp resolution camera.
Other customizations limit users from utilizing other features of the tablet (e.g. surfing the web), define which camera to use with barcode reading & whether to require confirmation of phone number and Email address.
Custom Profile App
RoboRewards client companies may now contract for an optional add-on feature which brands a contact profile app to their business name. These businesses will receive detailed instructions to provide to their customers to download and use the app.
