Contacts
When customers join a reward program, they become contacts in the RoboRewards database. Contacts fill out the profile forms through their computer, mobile device, or a tablet at the business location. RoboRewards suggests always using the industry standard double opt-in process for all contact sign-ups.
WARNING - SMS requires a double opt-in confirmation in the United States. SMS laws vary in other countries.
Contacts receive points when they complete certain pre-defined steps (signup, refer-a-friend, complete their profile, check-in, make appointment, etc.). A business employee can manually post a transaction (redeem or add points) against the contact's profile through a tablet or other on-line device. Points always accumulate or diminish according to the rules of the reward program.
Custom Fields
RoboRewards establishes a standard set of questions for each contact (name, email address, phone number, etc.). Businesses can customize contact information by adding custom fields relevant to their reward program (preferences, family & friends).
Custom fields appear in contact lists and profile forms. Templates can also use custom fields.
Use the information collected to promote and target marketing through segments.
Contact Lists
When a person joins a reward program, the software automatically assigns the contact to a contact list. The reward program communicates with contacts through lists and segments as well as individually. For example, automated communications (triggers and autoresponders) function based on individual events (birthdays, inactivity, etc.). Campaigns broadcast to groups in contact lists or segments.
Certain reward programs permit multiple contact lists (according to tiers or VIP status). The RoboRewards software automatically moves contacts between lists based program rules, such as: number of points accumulated, whether the contact pays to join a premium program, etc.

Segments
Segments represent parts of a contact list (active VIP segment or inactive segment). Contacts appear in segments based on its rules (include these, but exclude those). RoboRewards software generates segments as needed for campaigns, triggers, etc.
For example, one segment could contain all contacts (from multiple contact lists) with birthdays in the present month. Next month, the segment will contain a different group of contacts (without changing the rules). Segments permit targeting of contacts based on time-sensitive information.
Segments also allow targeting to specific groups of contacts (gender, zip code, or product preference).
