Contacts - Add a Contact

Click the image to begin video.

Select a Contact List(s)

Select the contact list(s) to add the contact (if the reward program has multiple lists).

Adding a member is as simple as completing the fields on the page. However, there are a few important takeaways from each section.

Member information

Choose the location where the contact belongs, if there are more than one location.

If you would like the contact to be added to the autoresponder marketing list, check the Yes, add members to autoresponders box. If checked, the member will be added to the first autoresponder.

The Member Card ID field will display if the business is using loyalty cards.

The SMS Confirmation Status will always be “Unconfirmed” until the member confirms their mobile number. A member confirms their mobile number by replying "Yes" to an SMS message asking them to opt-in. An opt-in message, known as a double opt-in, sends if the "Allow SMS Text," option found in the "Member Permissions and Preferences" section, is changed to "Yes." If changed, when trying to save the profile, the software will ask if you would like to send an opt-in request to the member. An opt-in message will also send if the member changes their status inside their profile.

WARNING - Currently, these rules apply to the United States, Canada and the UK, but as the software grows and other country SMS providers are integrated, the settings can change depending on the country's SMS regulations. Most other countries do not require SMS double opt-in. If you do not see these settings on this page, do not worry as the SMS provider rules do not require these settings.

If the activity status changes to inactive, the member will no longer receive broadcast triggers. However, inactive members may receive manual broadcasts via a segment.

Address

If using the shipping feature, an additional address will display allowing you to choose the home address.

Custom Field Details

Contains any custom fields added to the contact list. Learn more from the Create a Contact List article.

Additional Rewards Information

The creating user can grant initial Redeemable Points available to the new contact. The Total Spent is the lifetime spend of the contact. If either field is updated, the software will create a log inside of the "Event History" button. Viewing the Event History allows a business owner to audit a contact if numbers do not seem accurate.

Appointment Trigger

If you would like to create an appointment reminder, do so here. Additionally, when contacts schedule appointments in their profile, if this feature is enabled, the contact will automatically have an appointment trigger attached inside their profile. You may change the default trigger settings inside of the "Create a Reward Program" area. If you are a business owner or manager, please ask support to change these settings for you, if needed.

Contact Permissions and Preferences

This section allows you to turn "On" or "Off" marketing avenues. Additionally, a preferred media type can be chosen. A member can later change these settings inside their user profile. When creating smart campaigns, the software will send the appropriate campaign, either email or SMS, based on the Preferred Media Type setting chosen here.

Buttons

The Show Transaction History button displays all transaction history for the member.

The Event History button displays all point and spending changes that have taken place in the member's account. This allows a business to run audits on contacts whose points or spending seem to be inaccurate.

The Broadcast History button displays all broadcasts that have sent to the member.

The Autoresponder History button displays all autoresponders sent to the contact.

The Trigger History button displays all triggers sent to the member.

Event Log

To add an Event Log, do so here. The Event Log is an important feature for tracking special requests a member asks you to perform. Additionally, when members opts-in to SMS text messaging, a Log Event is created here.
