Email/SMS Campaign Details (first screen)

Campaign Name: The first step when creating a campaign is giving it a name. After you've chosen a name, select the campaign type.

Campaign Type: There are five campaign types:

  • Smart Campaign: The Smart campaign is the most popular type of campaign. A Smart campaign links Email and SMS together sending via the contact's preferred method of communication found in their profile.
  • Email Campaign: An email campaign sends only Emails (overriding the contact's preferred method of communication). Use Email campaigns for reward programs that do not implement mobile marketing.
  • SMS Campaign: SMS campaigns send only SMS messages (overriding the contact's preferred method of communication). Use these campaigns for reward programs that strictly run mobile marketing.
  • Appointment Campaign: An appointment campaign uses the Smart campaign features and is used to send appointment reminders. If an appointment is scheduled in a member's profile or on the post-transaction screen, only those broadcast created with the appointment campaign type will be displayed as an appointment reminder option. If the Appointment feature is turned “On” when creating the reward program, there is an option on the post-transaction screen titled "Appointment." The feature is also found when editing a members profile under the “Appointment Trigger” section.
When the Appointment Trigger is selected, first select the appointment date and time and choose how many hours, days or weeks to send the trigger before the appointment. Choose the campaign would like to send and the sender profile. Leave the "Yes, this trigger is active" button checked. Press the "Save" button, and if you would like to add another triggered appointment reminder, press the "Add Another" button. Adding multiple appointment triggers may be beneficial if an appointment is far into the future.
  • Override Campaign: An override campaign, if turned “On” in the create a reward program area, will display on the post-transaction screen as an option titled "Override." You will have the option to override the standard transaction trigger. You can then choose which override campaign to send when posting the transaction and which sender profile to use. Keep the "Yes, this trigger is active" option checked and press "Save."

Email Template: After choosing the campaign type, choose an template you would like to use. There are a variety of templates in the software, and most businesses will use the default template as its branded in the business's logo theme and colors. If you scroll to the bottom of the email template selection box, you can view custom email templates if you or your account representative has created any. Alternatively, if you do not like any of the built-in templates, you can import HTML or use MailStyler. Learn more about creating custom Email templates and in MailStyler.

Once your Email Template is selected, press the Next button.

Campaign Subject: Enter the visible email campaign subject in this section.

Sender Profile: Choose the sender profile you would like to use.

Coupon/Offer Settings: The settings found in this section are primarily used with the default template.

Template Text Color: The template color is the border color displayed directly below the header image, the text color of the "Your Account" button, the "Earn Rewards" button and the "Click Here" button if an offer is attached. The checkbox should be checked with your primary theme color. If you would like to change this color, simply click the box and use the color wheel to select the appropriate color. Once selected, in the bottom right-hand corner of the color picker there is a colorful sphere, click this for your color to display real-time in the HTML editor. You may also choose a standard blue or red color by checking the respective boxes.

Template Categories: If attaching offer, choose an offer category or simply use the scroll bar to view all categories. Once the appropriate images found click the "Add image to editor" button. Once the image is added in the HTML editor, the coupon image will display.

Background Color: The background color changes the default templates background color behind the email.

By default, the "Create content using WYSIWYG editor below" is selected. If you would like to "Upload an HTML file from your computer" from software such as MailStyler, do so by clicking the radio button. Additionally, you may copy-paste HTML by clicking the HTML button in the footer of the HTML editor. You may also "Import a file from a website" by clicking the appropriate radio button, entering the web address, and pressing the "Import" button.

HTML Content: The HTML content is the format delivered to email clients that receive HTML. An email client is an email reader such as Outlook, Gmail, and Yahoo, etc. When ready, type or paste your text in the HTML table below. You may change text fonts and sizes by playing with the ribbon editor. If you would like to insert an image or change the banner, simply select the image, press the "Insert" tab button, next press the "Image Manager" button, choose to upload a new banner or choose an existing banner. When the appropriate banner’s chosen press the "Insert" button.

Dynamic Content: To add an offer, click the "Add Offers-Image Links" drop-down selection under the dynamic content drop-down. Choose the offer you would like to insert and press the "Add Link" button. Dynamic content is used to personalize each broadcast sent. There are a vast amount of different tokens that can be used. A token is a string of text that is dynamically substituted with information from each member’s profile such as %%FirstName%% (if there is no first name 'Friend' is used) or the expiration of an offer, %%expdate%%.

The "Dynamic Content", "Default Links", "Name Tokens" drop downs all contain dynamic tokens used to personalize each campaign. You may remove an offer from the campaign at any time by pressing the "Remove Offer" button. Many of these are self-explanatory, however, please send a support ticket if you have any questions.

Text Content: The text content is used to send to email clients that do not accept HTML. Copy paste the HTML text into the text content area. If an offer has been added to the HTML editor, it will automatically display at the bottom of the text content editor.

SMS Content: The SMS portion of the broadcast campaign is found here. The “%%RewardProgramName%%” is not required. However, it’s an important token to use so your members know who the SMS is coming from. If an offer has been added to the HTML editor, the name of the offer will appear but is not required. Many times, it works best to state what the offer is and add a link to the members profile versus adding a link directly to the offer. However, both options are available. (These fields do not appear in Email Campaigns).

WARNING - “STOP to Stop,” is required in the USA, Canada, and the UK.

The characters remaining can be unchecked if using token large names like “%%PointsToReachRewardGoal%%.” This token will only use, on average, two or three characters, therefore, you may unlock the message count and count characters yourself. The US and the UK allow 160 characters per SMS message and Canada allows 140 characters.
