Find the Create a Custom Template subtab under the Template tab.
Creates templates for Email or SMS broadcast campaigns, etc.
Template - Create a Custom Template

Creating custom templates are valuable for broadcast campaign creation and creating canned responses, for instance replying to negative survey feedback. You may create canned responses and edit the response before sending the broadcast. Learn more about surveys and replying to negative feedback by visiting the Create a Survey article.
New Template Details
- Template Name: Give the template a descriptive name.
- Template Format: Choose the type of template you will be creating, SMS or Email Campaign.
- Email Template: Choose from the list of built-in templates (depending on the selection of Template Format). A thumbnail version of the template displays in the image to the right of the list.
NOTE - The default template uses settings from the Create a Reward Program subtab (logo, colors, etc.).
NOTE - You may also use MailStyler to create email campaign templates and import templates into the software. MailStyler uses a drag-and-drop system eliminating the need to know HTML. Learn more by visiting the MailStyler article.
After making your selection, click the Next button.
Template Format - Email Campaign
If the Email Campaign option is selected as the Template Format, the following options display.
Template Details
- Email Template Image: First choose the image thumbnail associated with the template. The image allows you to differentiate between templates when creating a broadcast campaign. Thumbnails are extremely beneficial if creating multiple templates.
- Coupon/Offer Settings: The Coupon/Offer Settings have a few options.
Template Text Color: Select the text color of the border and buttons. Feel free to play with this setting until you find an attractive color to match your theme.
Template Categories: If adding an offer to the template, choose a category type if possible. For instance, a birthday or anniversary, or special offer or risk-free offer. Scroll through the different image names to find one that matches your theme. Once chosen, press the "Add image to editor" button.
Background Color: If you would like to change the background color of the email template, do so here.
By default, the radio button titled "Create content using the WYSIWYG editor below" is selected. You may also Upload a file from your computer or Import the file from a website. Feel free to test these settings.
- HTML Content: When finished, enter the HTML text into the template. You may also add Dynamic Content, Default Links, and Name Tokens. To learn more about these settings, please visit the Create an Email/SMS Campaign article.
Miscellaneous Options
- Activate Template: Choose whether the template is Active or Inactive. If inactive, the template will not display when creating an email/SMS campaign.
- Global Template: Choose whether the template is global or only for this reward program. If global is selected, every reward program in the database may use the template.
When finished click the Save button.
Template Format - SMS Campaign
If the SMS Campaign option is selected as the Template Format, the following options display.
Template Details
- SMS Template Image: First choose the image thumbnail associated with the template. The image thumbnail allows you to differentiate between templates when creating a broadcast campaign. Thumbnails are extremely beneficial if creating multiple templates.
- SMS Content: Enter the SMS content into the text box below. The %%RewardProgramName%% token is replaced by the reward program name and "STOP to Stop" is required for each SMS campaign sent.
Miscellaneous Options
- Activate Template: Choose whether the template is Active or Inactive. If inactive, the template will not display when creating an email/SMS campaign.
- Global Template: Choose whether the template is global or only for this reward program. If global is selected, every reward program in the database may use the template.
When finished click the Save button.
