Before Login (Public) vs. After Login (Private) Website Structure
The website has a slightly different appearance and structure after a member logs into their account than before they login. The differences include changes to the Home page and appearance/disappearance of other pages.
The Location page under the Contact menu remains the same before and after login. Each page retains the same header ribbon (although the menu items change) and the footer sections and ribbon.
Most pages remain hidden until the member logs into their account. Before login, they can only see the Home, Login, Signup, and Location pages. After login, they can see the rest of the website (with the Login and Signup pages no longer needed).
Webpage Structure
Each page of the website consists of a series of horizontal ribbons stacked vertically like pancakes:
- Header - upper-most ribbon containing the business name/logo and the menu
- Upper (optional) - augments the contents with additional images and descriptive text
- Contents - the main section of the page consisting of one or two columns with text and images
- Lower (optional) - augments the contents with additional images and text
- Feedback (optional) - allows the member to send trouble reports and contains up to three sets of links
- Footer - lower-most ribbon containing the business contact, copyright, privacy, and terms of service information
Upper and lower ribbons can include point summary information, leader boards, etc.
The Mobile Settings container can modify this structure to better suit their smaller displays (see Profile 2.0 Mobile Settings article).
Menu Names Settings
The Menu Names Settings container controls the menu options after the member logs into their account.
- Visible - determines whether the page is visible after login
- Display Name - controls the name of the page in the menu
- Child Page Display Name - controls the title at the top of the page
Some menu items only apply to specific types of reward programs (e.g. appointment page).
NOTE - The menu compresses to(three-line icon) when the browser display shrinks below a certain threshold.
Public vs. Private Settings Containers
The structure of the Profile 2.0 settings page corresponds to the before and after login behavior of the website. The Non-Member - Public Pages Settings section contains the public containers:
- Login Page - allows members to log into their accounts
- Join Now Page - allows non-members to create accounts in the reward program (i.e. become members and login)
- Before Login Home Page - home page as seen by non-members
- Join Now Page Thank You Popup - Controls behavior of the website immediately after a non-member joins the program
NOTE - Home Page "More Ways to Earn Points" Right Column container effects the home page before and after login.
After a member logs into their account (or joins the program), the menu changes to the private view of options. These containers control the private pages:
- After Login Home Page - home page as seen by members
- Ways to Earn Page - lists additional ways (besides money transactions) to earn points in the program
- Social Sharing Page - controls postings to the member's social media accounts (validates points for the member and controls the message to their friends)
- Child Page Settings - controls upper ribbon settings for all private webpages except for Home, Contact, and Location
- Refer a Friend Page - sends emails to the member's friends and tracks referral points
- Upload Receipt Page - creates a receipt on the member's PC or mobile device (coming soon)
Businesses control the contents and appearance of text and images sent out via Social Sharing and Refer a Friend pages.
The containers control settings found on all pages:
- Logo - controls the appearance of the header ribbon at the top of the page (works with the menu names container)
- Footer Settings - controls the feedback and footer ribbons
